2018 Goals

I am a big one for goal setting but this year I wanted to do it differently. I know everyone talks about ‘SMART’ goals but I think setting time restraints and specific goals makes it very easy to fail and so give up. Also, a year is a long time to set goals for and what you want to achieve in that time may change.

This year I am setting 8 very general goals. When I am setting my monthly goals, I can look back at my large goals and set smaller, more specific ones. Throughout the year I will take more realistic steps towards my goals making it a lot harder to fail. It also means, if my view on that goal changes slightly through the year, I can adapt my plan without feeling like I haven’t reached my original goal.

2017 was a big year for me in terms of finding myself, changing my perception of being ‘healthy’, completely changing my career aspirations and my blog taking a new direction. 2018 is the year for me to build on all this and really start to create the life and become the person I have dreamed up in 2017. So here are my 2018 goals:

Reflect daily and journal more. Daily journal my goals, intentions, affirmations and gratitude.

Be more mindful with money. Save money towards going on holiday and just generally for life and become less materialistic with buying things.

Establish a consistent, healthy morning routine. Wake up early everyday and have a routine that gets me energised and focused for the day.

Move more. Aim to walk, do yoga or go to the gym everyday.

Eat more whole foods. Eat filling, healthy foods to fuel my body and break sugar and salt additions.

Love music again. Enjoy violin again. Practise more and take opportunities to push for a career in performance or music admin/marketing.

Learn to deal with stress. Learn to stay calm, let go and worry less.

Bring my blog to a place I am happy with. Post consistent content I am passionate about and build readership and social media.
