Coming home for a few weeks over christmas and having to pack up all the makeup I am wearing into a bag seemed like a great reason to do a what’s in my makeup bag. In this one makeup bag I have everything I will want over the festive season for day to day looks as well as evening and party looks. This really is all the makeup I am loving and using at the moment. Enjoy!
Similarly to my last what’s in my makeup bag, I am going to split it up into face, eyes and lips.
I have 2 primers with me which are the Benefit Porefessional, a skin perfecting and smoothing one and That Gal, a brightening one which I sometimes mix wit my foundation to make it lighter coverage. I’ve also really been loving the Max Factor CC stick for under eyes which I find really helps brighten any dark circles under my concealer. Generally day to day I don’t wear foundation but when I do and for parties I use the Revlon Colorstay in the shade 150. I like this foundation because it’s not too heavy or drying and it’s a good colour match for me. When I want a slightly lighter coverage and just want to cancel out any redness, I use the L’Oreal ParisNude Magique CC cream in the green shade although I sometimes find this a little dark for the winter when I’ve lost my tan.
Recently I have been using 3 concealers. The MAC Pro Longwear concealer has been one of my favourites for a long time and I just find a really nice consistency and coverage. I have it in the shade NW20 which I have actually found a bit dark going into winter as I lose my tan, especially when I want it to brighten my under eyes. I bought the Rimmel London Match Perfection Concealer in the shade 010 which is a lighter shade for under my eyes. I love the applicating brush that it comes through which makes it perfect to keep in my handbag to use throughout the day. I very recently purchased the Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Concealer which I am loving. It is in the shade fair which is perfect for me and it’s such a moisturising consistency. I have quite dry skin so don’t really use a powder over my face but I sometimes just use it under my eyes to make sure my concealer stays in place. As always, I have been using the NYX HD Studio Finish Photogenique Powder.
I like to still use a little bit of bronzer through the winter so have the Benefit Hoola bronzer with me. For blusher I use the Benefit Hervana blush for a subtle, natural look and when I want something a bit more pigmented, I use the Nars Orgasm blusher. Both are gorgeous pinky tones and add some natural looking colour to my cheeks. For highlighter I either use the Benefit Hight Beam which is a beautiful, shimmery, liquid highlighter or the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector which is a pressed powder which gives the most beautiful finish on the skin.
For eyebrows I just have my Benefit Ka-Brow brow gel with me because it can look so natural or be built up for a more dramatic look. It will be no surprise to anyone that I’m using the Benefit Roller Lash mascara (repurchased about 8 times)! I have 2 eyeliner with me. The Gosh Intense Eye Liner Pen in the shade grey is a really nice less dramatic eyeliner which I like to use in the day. For a more generic black liner I use the Sleek Dip It eyeliner which is just your normal liquid liner that stays really well.
For eye colour I have been mixing between the original Urban Decay Naked Pallet and the Naked Smokey Pallet. Some of my favourite and most used colours are Naked, Buck, Toasted and Gunmetal from the original pallet and High, Dirtysweet, Password and Combust from the Smokey Pallet.
I talked about almost all these lipsticks in my last post on my favourite winter lipsticks so check that out for more details on any of them. I generally like quite dark lip colours through winter. With me I have MAC Retro, MAC Mehr, Urban Decay F-Bomb, Gosh Cranberry, Rimmel London Kate 30 and Barry M 162.
I hope you enjoyed this little insight into my current makeup favourites. Have a great Christmas x x x
