A Face for Autumn

A Face for Autumn

I can’t believe it’s already autumn! Where has 2016 gone? I am by no means complaining; I love the colours of autumn clothes and makeup and being able to get out the scarfs and jumpers. Today I’m showing you my autumn makeup look.

I can sometimes find autumn makeup quite full on so I usually either do a dark, statement lip or smokey eye and keep the other quite neutral. It was my birthday a couple of weeks ago and I got a gorgeous new lipstick so today I’m going to focus my look on the lips. Keep your eyes out for my smokey eye autumn look coming in the next few weeks.

Of course I start with a primer and it will be no surprise to any regular readers that I used my Benefit That Gal brightening primer to give me a glow under my foundation. I also used the Max Factor CC under eye stick to really brighten up my under eye. If you read my little beauty hall┬áthen you will know that I wasn’t too sure about this when I first used it but it has really grown on me and I love the brightening effect it gives under concealer. As the cold weather comes in, I do like to start wearing a bit of foundation so I used my Revlon Colour Stay foundation in a light layer all over. My dark circles do still show through so I use my Mac Pro Longwear concealer under my eyes before dusting over Nyx HD Studio Photogenic Powder to set my base and get rid of any shine.

I’m not going to do any mad contouring as this is just a day time look so I just brush my Kiko Milano Perfecting bronzer under my cheek bone and up onto my temple to add back some colour. I then used my Benefit Hervana blusher on the apple of my cheek and finished by dabbing some highlighter from the Makeup Revolution Cream Contour Palette onto the top of my cheek bones and down my nose.

I started by using Pure over my eye then Linen just on the lid and then Innocent blended into the crease and outer corner. I then added Silk right in the outer corner and Demure on the inner corner to highlight.

Of course, I used Benefit Ka-Brow for my brows in the shade 3. I then used my new Gosh Intense Eye Liner Pen to add a defining line across the top of my lashes and then finished with my Benefit Roller Lash mascara.

On my lips I am wearing Mac Satin Retro which is my new favourite autumn colour! I had been looking for a colour like this for ages but couldn’t find anything I liked as much in any cheaper brands so birthday money was a great excuse to buy it!

I apologise for the photo quality today. I have lost my camera battery charger so am stuck with my phone camera until the new one arrives! I hope you enjoyed and keep your eyes peeled for a follow up post with my autumn makeup look focusing on eyes.
