Little Beauty Haul

Little Beauty Haul

Moving back to London, for some reason, was to me a great reason to spend lots of money. I have bought quite a few clothes ready for autumn, stocked up on books and had various trips to Boots and Superdrug.

I have only bought a few beauty bits but they have been things that have really changed my makeup routine every morning. There a couple of things I have really wanted for a while and a couple that just caught my eye.

Firstly is the Benefit Ka-Brow! which was actually featured in my August favourites as I bought it at the end of last month. I wasn’t planning on changing up my eyebrow routine but my go to pencil ran out at the same time as the new Benefit brow range was launched so seemed only right to try it and I’m so glad I did! It is so easy to apply, lasts all day and builds really well so I can have a really natural look or make it more dramatic. I was unsure what shade to get as I have blonde hair but quite dark eyebrows. I got shade 03 which is perfect because it is an ashy tone so doesn’t look too brown with my blonde hair but is dark enough to match my eyebrows.

Next I picked up MaxFactor CC for under eye. Dark circles are by far my biggest problem and I have never managed to find a concealer that can actually hide them so a colour corrector to go underneath my concealer seemed like a great idea. It is a really good brightening, slightly yellow colour to correct the dark and slightly purple under eye tones. It’s a nice creamy consistency but the coverage isn’t as good as I expected. It brightens the whole under eye area really well but I don’t find it actually covers my dark circles.

The last thing I picked up in Boots was a BarryM lipstick in the shade 162. I love dark lipstick coming into autumn and I wanted one less purple that the ones I currently own. This is a beautiful dark red which lasts so well and doesn’t dry my lips out at all.

Next I went into my local Superdrug and found they’d doubled the size of their Makeup Revolution section so of course had to check that out. I ended up buying their Ultra Cream Contour Palette which is by far my favourite purchase! I had been wanting to get onto the cream bronzer craze and this palette for £8 seemed too good to miss. They are beautiful colours, really good consistencies and blend really well. There are 4 contour shades of varying tone and shade, 3 contrasting highlight shades (1 a banana colour for under eye brightening) and then 1 beautiful shimmery highlight. Definitely get on that!

My final purchase was a Beauty Bender by B. This is definitely a trend I am very late to the party on and something I have been meaning to buy for probably about a year. I’ve been using it to blend my CC cream and concealer and I’ve found it just gives a much smoother finish and the shape makes it so easy to get under the eye. Definitely prefer it to brushes for applying creamy products.

These are obviously all very new products to me so my opinions on them could well change. Please do let me know if you have any of these what your opinions are and I’d love to know any new purchases you’ve been loving recently. Hope everyone had a lovely week.

Love Meg x x x
