What’s in My Makeup Bag (Holiday Edition)

What’s in My Makeup Bag (Holiday Edition)

Sorry for the long time in between posts! I landed back in London today after 3 weeks backpacking around Croatia (blog post to follow) and of course I wasn’t organised enough to queue posts.

Today I’m going to show you the makeup I took away with me. A lot of it is Benefit as Boots had a great offer on of their mini products which are just perfect for  taking away. I never wear a lot of makeup in summer because I don’t need it as much when I have a slight tan and it’s always nice to feel lighter in the heat so most days I just put some on in the evening.

I took everything in this super cute makeup bag from Catseye. It is quite small so not recommended for people who need a lot of makeup but for me with my minimal makeup and limited space for backpacking, it’s perfect!

Face:bag 2

I took 2 primers with me, both Benefit minis. The first is the Porefessional which I use under my eyes and on my T zone to reduce the appearance of pores. The second is That Gal which is the most amazing brightening primer which I use all over my face for a real glow.

I don’t wear foundation in summer but I brought 2 concealers with me to use under my eyes and if I got any blemishes while I was away. First is one I bought on a whim in Boots with the Benefit offer. It is in the shade 02 which is normally too dark for me but with my summer tan it was perfect. The second is my well loved MAC Pro Longwear concealer which I picked up last time I was in an airport and have worn pretty much every time I’ve put makeup on since.

For blusher I used my trusty Benefit Hervana which is such a beautiful blend of pink tones. This was the first time I had used the Benefit Hoola bronzer but I absolutely love it and will definitely buy a full size one when my tester runs out. I always love highlighter but especially in summer so I took 2 with me which I use at the same time. First is the benefit High Beam which I just use on the top of my cheek bones as it is very pearly and bright and second is the Benefit Watt’s Up which I use on the ridge of my nose, on my cupids bone and under my brow bone. This one is a much more chanpagney colour.

Eyes:bag 3

The mini benefit concealer also comes with the Eye Bright brightening eye primer which I actually sometimes used instead of eyeshadow but also worked really well as a cream base. When I did wear I eye colour I used my Urban Decay Naked Smokey pallet. I tend to stick to the lighter colours in summer. High (left) has been a real favourite for the inner corner. No surprise for my eyebrows I took the Soap and Glory Archery brow pencil and for lashes I took the Benefit Roller Lash mascara.

Lips:bag 4

First (of course) I took my EOS which goes EVERYWHERE with me! At the moment I’m using the flavour honeydew melon and honeysuckle which I think is my favourite so far. The first lip colour I took I have had for a long time and doesn’t actually have the sticker on anymore so I don’t know what it is. It’s a really orangey, red shade from Rimmel. Second is my Mac Matte lipstic in the shade Mehr which is my go to nude shade. Finally is an old favourite of mine that I rediscovered in Boots. It’s the Benefit Posie lip tint. It’s such a pinky natural shade which is perfect for in the day and the fact it’s a tint means it lasts really well.

I hope you’ve enjoyed and have found this useful. As always, I would love to know your favourite products this summer as I am always looking for new things to try. I am moving back to London in a couple of weeks so will try to do more regular posts after that. Please let me know what you want to see!

I hope everyone is having a lovely summer,

Meg x x x
