Today I was having a little trip into central London to buy some sheet music, look around the shops and grab some lunch so I thought I’d do a little get ready with me. I’ll show you how I did my hair and makeup and what clothes I am wearing. All products shown and mentioned are linked at the bottom. Enjoy!
I was getting ready after my morning gym session so I started by having a shower. For my hair I use the John Frieda sheer blonde range. The shampoo is from the old range but it’s recently been rebranded and there’s loads of new variations so the conditioner is a new one that I’m trying out.
After I’ve showered, I brush and towel dry my hair before working through 2 pumps of Percy&Reed volumising no oil oil. I have quite thick, heavy hair so I try to add volume and air to stop it going flat. I then sprayed it with heat defence spray (I use Tresemme) before blow drying it. I do a lot of it with my head upside down as this helps to add volume. After I’ve dried it I spray it with my texturising salt spray which I brush through with my fingers and scrunch up.
My favourite part! Before I start my makeup I moisturise with my Bodyshop aloe soothing day cream and moisturise my lips with my EOS. As a primer today I just used the Benefit porefessional balm under my eyes and around my T-zone. My skin is really good at the moment so I don’t need to use a foundation or tinted moisturiser. I use the MAC pro longwear concealer in the shade NW20 mainly under my eyes and a little bit on any redness like under my nose. I like the finish of this so I don’t use a powder unless I really need it to last a long time. Today I wanted quite a light contour so I went for my Kiko Milano perfecting bronzer in the shade 01 just under my cheek bone and a little bit around my temple and jaw bone. I then used a light dusting of Benefit Hervana on the apples of my cheeks. I forgot to include highlighter in the photo but today I used 2. I started by using Benefit Watt’s up! on top of my cheek bone, on my brow bone, along my nose and on my cupids bone. I then also added a little bit of Benefit high beam on top of this on my cheek bone because I’m really into the glowing look at the moment.
On to eyes now. As usual, I used my Naked smoky palete by Urban Decay. Today I used combust (2nd from right) across my whole eye lid, password (4th from right) blended into the crease and outer corner, high (left) on the inner corner and a little on my lower lash line and thirteen (right) just under my brow. For my eyebrows I use my trusty Soap&Glory Archery brow tint & precision shaping pencil in the shade brownie points. I then finish my eyes with Benefit Roller lash on my lashes. On my lips I wore MAC Mehr in matt.
My blouse is a recent purchase from Zara. It’s slightly pleated which makes it hang nicely and I’m really loving buttoned shirts and blouses at the moment. I wore this with these cute, silky black shorts with a lace trim from Brandy Melville. My shoes are these chunky black heeled sandals from New look. Despite being June, It was really cold today so I wore my favourite navy Ted Baker coat open over the top.
